QA Checklist

20 observable items across 5 groups, written as outcomes — what a guest-ready property looks like at the moment of sign-off. Pair this with First-Clean Verification (the process a founder or supervisor uses to inspect the first 2 cleans per crew member before they solo).

Kitchen

  • No crumbs, sticky residue, water rings, or cooking splatter show on the wipe when held to light.

  • No fingerprints, no polish haze along stainless grain, no grease film on microwave interior or hood underside.

  • No cooked-on residue, no polish streaks, no degreaser film. Burner pans are dry and seated.

  • Dishwasher fills + drains. Microwave heats 30 sec with a cup of water. Oven heats 60 sec at 350°F. Fridge light comes on.

  • No food debris, no water-spotting on faucet chrome, no soap scum on basin sides, sprayer head dry.

Bath

  • No water-spot constellations, no descaler streaks, no swirl marks in single direction or circular.

  • No swirl scratches from abrasive pads, no descaler slickness under the tap, no polish film on chrome.

  • Color is uniform across the grout line. No dark spots at the shower-to-floor seam, behind the toilet, or along the tub edge.

  • No pink ring, no biofilm under the rim, no streaks on the bowl sides, no splash on the seat underside.

  • Mirror has no streaks, no toothpaste spots. Floor is dry at the corners, along the baseboard, and under the bath mat.

Bedroom & Linen

  • Each bed has the documented set. No skip even when the old linen "looked fine" — turnover resets every linen surface.

  • Linens smell of fresh detergent, not stale storage. No body-oil sheen on pillowcases. No folded-with-damp-mark smell.

  • 2 bath + 2 hand + 2 wash per guest plus 2 spare sets total per bathroom. One bath mat per bathroom.

Odor & Air

  • No vinegar sting, no bleach tang, no ammonia bite, no fragrance-mask perfume. The room smells of nothing.

  • No stale-food smell in the kitchen after turnover. No musty carpet smell in bedrooms (the carpet was steam-cleaned and dried).

  • Thermostat is set to the property standard (usually 70°F / 21°C). Fan mode is AUTO unless the host documented ON.

  • Liner is fresh (not reused from a guest-stay). Lid closes without smell. Bottom of can is dry.

Visual Inspection

  • Porch swept, entry mat flat, no cobwebs on the door frame, porch-side trash empty, smart-lock/lockbox code matches the job card.

  • Every switchable light turns on. No burned-out bulbs in guest-traversed fixtures. No dimmer flickering.

  • Surface shows the disinfectant contact time was honored — the surface is dry, no streaks, no residue finger transfer.
